The singer and guitarist for the band Barenaked Ladies has been arrested on drug charges in upstate New York.
Police say Steven Page was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance on Friday in the Syracuse area.
Authorities say the arrest occurred at about 2 a.m. after police noticed a suspicious car with its driver's side door left open. They say they found Page and two women in a nearby apartment, along with cocaine and marijuana.
Barenaked Ladies' manager Terry McBride confirmed the charge but declined to comment further. The singer, released after paying $10,000 bail, is due in court Thursday.
Page helped form the band in 1988. The group, know for hits such as "One Week" and "Pinch Me" recently released their debut kids CD "Snacktime."

It's such a shame that this happened. I think Steven Page is a great guy that just got caught up in bad behavior. Besides, he wrote some of my favorite Barenaked Ladies songs.
I hope everything works out okay and they can go record their new album soon!

The Laptop Sessions Cover Songs
It was kinda a given that they were at least wacked out on something when they wrote "If I had a Million Dollars" Great song, funny song.... but definately not a soberly written song.
I guess when you have all that money and your kinda fat and geeky it feels great when a bunch of young strippers are interested in you... even if it is just for the blow.
